Line Up and Drink Up for Lemonade Day TODAY at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers!
By Steven Gordon, Lemonade Day National President
“We are extremely proud to partner with Lemonade Day and to expand our support nationwide. My first taste of business came at a very young age when I operated a lemonade stand in my front yard, and that spark ignited a young entrepreneur in me. Creating the opportunity for other kids to be inspired by business is exactly why I’m passionate about Lemonade Day.”
Todd Graves, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers
Today, April 10, is a big day for Lemonade Day. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is generously hosting a major promotional fundraiser for Lemonade Day in most of its nearly 400 restaurants in 24 states: Lemonade Day will receive $1 for every lemonade drink purchased today from open to close, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
In addition to hosting the fundraiser today, Raising Cane’s customers can register a child to participate in Lemonade Day. (See raisingcanes.com/lemonade-day)
Raising Cane’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer Todd Graves helped to bring Lemonade Day to Louisiana in 2011. Since then, Raising Cane’s restaurants across the state have been actively involved in supporting and promoting Lemonade Day. The Louisiana-based restaurant company known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – recently launched a national partnership with us.
Lemonade Day empowers kids today with business and leadership skills that will equip them to start new ventures and create jobs in the future. Research indicates that the earlier kids are introduced to entrepreneurship, the more likely they are to start a business at some point in their lifetime.
Raising Cane’s is a perfect match for Lemonade Day on many levels. We admire Todd Graves’ vision and commitment to growth, corporate culture, and community service. We are honored to have been chosen as the beneficiary of Raising Cane’s fundraiser today.
On behalf of our Lemonade Day founders Michael and Lisa Holthouse, our Lemonade Day national board of directors, and all our licensed city partners, I want to express my sincere appreciation to Raising Cane’s entire team for believing in our mission.
If you are anywhere close to Raising Cane’s location, please line up and drink up Raising Cane’s lemonade to support Lemonade Day! The Lemonade Day national staff will be going to Raising Cane’s in Houston several times today and ordering lemonade – oh, we will be splurging on some chicken fingers, too!
ABOUT LEMONADE DAY
Founded in Houston in 2007 by Michael and Lisa Holthouse, Lemonade Day is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching every child across North America the business and financial skills that are the key ingredients of entrepreneurship. By learning these skills early in life, children will be better prepared to be successful, financially healthy adults. Through our fun, hands-on program, kids K-5 are empowered to start their very own business—a lemonade stand—and experience the feeling of earning real money, using 100% of their profit to spend, save and share based on their own goals.
Lemonade Day is hosted in 66 territories in North America and is growing. Over the past 10 years, we have served more than 1 million kids in our kid entrepreneur programs. Within the next five years, Lemonade Day leaders estimate that 250,000 mentors and millions more kids will be hosting lemonade stands in North America and on other continents throughout the world.
Please visit LemonadeDay.org to learn how to participate in Lemonade Day in your city or to donate locally or nationally. Lemonade Day very much appreciates the support of our national sponsor Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers (raising canes.com), who is joined by our in-kind sponsors Reddy Ice Corporation (reddyice.com) and True Citrus (truelemon.com).
